Keeping tabs on every home run for the New York Yankees this season. The Yankees sent some balls to power alley. Unfortunately their bullpen was gasoline alley. Alex Rodriguez and Greg Bird went deep but the Yankees fell to the Tampa Bay Rays, 6-3.
During the first frame, bone bruise and all, A-Rod delivered with a solo shot to right, off Jake Odorizzi. It was A-Rod’s 32nd homer of the season and staked the Yankees to a 1-0 advantage.
In the fourth, with the Yankees down 2-1, Bird crushed a two-run tater to dead center, also off Odorizzi. Bird’s sixth of the season made it 3-2 Yankees.
The Bronx Bombers have 197 home runs on the campaign.
